1. About DB Diff

DB Diff is a command-line tool that compares tables across two databases. It is provided by Club Matto in two tiers: a free, open-source CLI and a Pro tier.

2. Free tier

The free tier of DB Diff is available under the terms of its open-source license. You may use it without charge for any purpose, subject to that license. No account, registration, or payment is required.

3. Pro tier

The Pro tier adds cross engine comparison: a table can be compared between two different engines, because each value is reduced to a canonical form before it is hashed. Pro is planned as a paid subscription service.

Pro is in early access. While we build licensing, we provide Pro builds free of charge on request. No key, account, or payment is required, and the tool does not transmit your data or your schema to us. The prices on the product page apply when licensing becomes available, and we will tell you before that changes for a build you already have.

Once Pro is generally available, subscribing means paying the fees listed on the product page at the time of purchase. Fees may be monthly or annual and are billed in advance. All fees are non-refundable except where required by law. You may cancel at any time, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No partial refunds are provided.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse DB Diff or its Pro service. In particular, you may not:

  • Use DB Diff for illegal purposes.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the Pro binary.
  • Resell or redistribute a Pro build without written permission.

5. Intellectual property

The DB Diff software (both free and Pro) and its documentation are the intellectual property of Club Matto. A subscription grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Pro binary.

The data in the databases you compare belongs to you. Club Matto claims no ownership over it, and the tool does not send it to us.

6. Disclaimer of warranties

DB Diff is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. A comparison tells you which rows differ; it does not tell you which of them is correct, and it is not a backup.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Club Matto shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of DB Diff or its Pro service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated on the product page or by email for Pro subscribers. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
