FakeData Terms of Service

1. About FakeData

FakeData is a command-line tool and service that generates realistic test data for databases. It is provided by Club Matto in two tiers: a free, open-source CLI and a paid Pro subscription with database connectivity features.

2. Free Tier

The free tier of FakeData is available under the terms of its open-source license. You may use it without charge for any purpose, subject to that license. No account, registration, or payment is required.

3. Pro Tier

The Pro tier adds schema introspection, foreign key resolution, direct database insertion, column overrides, and dry-run capabilities. Pro is a paid subscription service.

By subscribing to FakeData Pro you agree to pay the fees listed on the product page at the time of purchase. Fees may be monthly or annual and are billed in advance. All fees are non-refundable except where required by law.

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No partial refunds are provided.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse FakeData or its Pro service. In particular, you may not:

  • Use the Pro service to generate data for illegal purposes.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the Pro binary.
  • Resell or redistribute access to the Pro service without written permission.
  • Use the service in a way that disrupts or degrades performance for other users.

5. Intellectual Property

The FakeData software (both free and Pro) and its documentation are the intellectual property of Club Matto. Your subscription grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Pro binary.

Data you generate with FakeData belongs to you. Club Matto claims no ownership over the output of the tool.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

FakeData is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for your specific needs.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Club Matto shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of FakeData or its Pro service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

8. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the product page or by email for Pro subscribers. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
